Nursery Teachers' Training course also known as NTT is a diploma course for teachers who want to teach and cater to the students at nursery level or pre-primary level. This teacher workforce has to undergo the training of the general TT course where the teacher joins the workforce of several other pre-school teachers. The NTT course helps the students who aim to be pre-school teachers in order to facilitate young minds of nursery children. The course provides various methodologies to the teachers who undergo this TT course which is required in teaching the young students that will be essential in the physical, cognitive and social development. There are also several methodologies which are taught to the teachers to better understand their job roles and enact them in real life. There are various kinds of institutes which provide the TT course. It can be done full time and even as distance education course. The distance/correspondence courses in NTT are generally 1-year diploma courses, but sometimes it may vary with institutes. The distance courses in TT are provided by institutes like IGNOU where the student is selected on their merits based on their marks in class 10, 10+2 board or even graduation students can apply for the diploma course in NTT training. The TT course is almost the same for the full time and the distance course. Some institutes also conduct their own entrance examinations for checking the eligibility of the candidates during the admissions. Some of the top colleges providing NTT training take up students based on merit as well as to conduct entrance examinations. The students who are interested in taking admissions in NTT training should have a minimum aggregate score of 50 per cent in their graduation or 10+2 or 10 boards from a recognised institute. The minimum score for SC/ST candidates is further relaxed by five per cent. After the entrance exam, a personal interview or PI round is also taken after which the admission is provided.
The NTT training fees in distance/correspondence, as well as full-time one-year courses, ranges from Rs 5,000-25,000 for a year.
